Description D-Isoleucine ((R)-Isoleucine), an isoleucine stereoisomer, is a selective activator of Asc-1 antiporter, which enhances long-term potentiation at the hippocampal CA1-CA3 via release of endogenous D-serine[1].
Target Km: 100-400 μM (amino acid transporter b0,+)[1]
In Vitro DL-Lysine (Lys) is a high affinity, basic amino acid substrate for amino acid transporter b0,+ with Km value ranging from 100-400 μM[1].

Product Description
Pharmaceutical Applications:
D-isoleucine has various applications in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in the production of parenteral nutrition formulations. It is used as a component of amino acid injections and other products designed to meet the nutritional needs of patients who are unable to consume food orally. D-isoleucine is also used in the manufacture of certain drugs, such as ACE inhibitors and some antiviral medications.
Upstream and Downstream Industries: The production of D-isoleucine involves a complex process that starts with the fermentation of glucose or other carbohydrates using microorganisms. The resulting product is then subjected to various purification steps to isolate the desired compound. The upstream industries that provide the raw materials and equipment necessary for this process include the carbohydrate and microbial fermentation industries, as well as the bioreactor and centrifugation equipment manufacturers. The downstream industries that use D-isoleucine as a raw material include the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
Market Trends:
The global market for D-isoleucine is expected to grow steadily in the coming years, driven by increasing demand for amino acid-based nutrition products and pharmaceuticals. The Asia-Pacific region is expected to be the fastest-growing market, due to rising healthcare expenditures and increasing demand for parenteral nutrition products in countries such as China and India. The market is also characterized by a few major players, including Ajinomoto, Kyowa Hakko Bio, and CJ CheilJedang, who dominate the supply side of the industry.
Chemical Suppliers:
There are several chemical suppliers that provide D-isoleucine for pharmaceutical and other applications. Some of the major suppliers include Ajinomoto, Kyowa Hakko Bio, and CJ CheilJedang, who also happen to be the major players in the market. These suppliers use different fermentation methods and purification processes to produce D-isoleucine, resulting in variations in purity and quality. Buyers should carefully evaluate their options and choose a supplier based on factors such as cost, quality, and reliability.
In conclusion, D-isoleucine is an important raw material in the production of parenteral nutrition formulations and certain pharmaceuticals. The market for D-isoleucine is expected to grow in the coming years, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, and is dominated by a few major players. Buyers should carefully evaluate their options when choosing a supplier.
